GastroTidbit - the Plaza Cafe - 54 Lincoln Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Heuvos Rancheros

Bowl of [red] Chile

It was late [for us], we were not that hungry, and we did not want to pay $30+ per person. We wanted to eat somewhere on or near The Plaza. The snack bar at the Five and Dime was closing up, so we could not try their infamous Frito Pie. Next choice, the Plaza Cafe. It had that 50s charms with 21st century appeal. The chile flavor was definitely regional - nothing we have ever tasted back in NE OH. It was a strong "medium" on the spicy heat index. Sopapillas were great. There is a large squeeze bottle of honey to add to them. However, they were great plain.
