As we drove from Alamogordo to Roswell, we went from the desert to the mountains. The pine trees were tall and narrow and there was no underbrush. (Unfortunately, since it was past sunset, I could not take any pictures.)
In the mountains, we stopped for dinner in Ruidoso. We had NEVER heard of Ruidoso. Well, let's just say that we will one day return there to stay for a few days! Ruidoso has horse racing, skiing, a casino, and a Walmart. We actually saw a cowboy on horseback in the Walmart parking lot. How cool was that?!
