The VLA - Plains of St. Augustine, NM

Although it was sunny and very warm at the Trinity Site, the weather at the VLA was overcast, windy, and cold. However, that did not stop us from finding out about the VLA inside and out.

The inside of the Control Building is the typical 1970s office style. This is understandable considering that they were built when this project started. They even have custom built cabinetry to hold their equipment. We were able to look out the windows from the Control Room and see the VLA. It was a GREAT tour!

The kind people at the VLA (Very Large Array) offer guided tours on the days when the Trinity Site is open to the public. At the VLA, I (Adriana) recognized a few people that were at Trinity that morning. It makes me happy to know that Andy and I are not alone in our geekiness.
